Lyrics
Hear my cry, God;
listen to my prayer.
(Hear me, my God;
listen, please listen to my prayer.)
From the end of the earth,
with fainting heart,
I call out to you.
Set me down
on a rock
far above
where I am now.
For You will conceal me
in Your shelter
on the day of trouble
You will hide me
in the folds of Your tent.
You will set me high on a rock.
Then my head will be lifted up
above my surrounding foes,
and I will offer in Your tent
sacrifices with shouts of joy;
I will sing, sing praises to You, Adonai.
Hear my praises, my God;
listen to my prayer.
(Hear my praises, oh God;
listen, please listen to my prayer.)
Set me down on a rock
far above where I am now.
For You have been
a refuge for me,
a tower of strength
in the face of the foe.
Just one thing have I asked of You;
only this will I seek:
to live in Your house, Adonai
all the days of my life,
to see Your beauty
and visit in Your temple.
For You have heard my vows;
You have given me
the heritage of those
who fear Your name.
I will live in Your tent forever
and find refuge
in the shelter of Your wings.
Appoint grace and truth
to preserve me;
Then I will sing praise to Your name forever,
as day after day I fulfill my vows.
Hear my praises, my God;
listen to my prayer, Adonai.
Honour and glory and thanksgiving
to You, the only Living God.
You heard my praises, my God;
You listened,
You listened to my prayer.
(You heard my praises
Adonai my God!
